Spring newsletter
Hello Everyone,
Unlike most years that we count days, this year we’ll be counting the snow melting away. Based on 1cm per day, looks like we have about 30cm of snow to go before park opening! That being said; Donro Park will be opening its gate on Friday May 5th, 2023 at 9:02a.m.
Looking forward to seeing everyone after the long winter stretch. Please as always due to the soft spring conditions keep vehicles parked close to road edges and avoid unneccessary traffic over the lawns and soft areas with vehicles and golf carts until the park dries up.
The park will be fully operational and all amenities will be open for use, the dock area will have a map posted at the boat launch and docking will be labelled with your site number per dock space.
Things to look forward to this year:
Donro park is on a waiting list to add an additional well system to help water supply in the park. Hopefully we’ll have it installed sooner than later. At this point there is no set date for when it will be operational. Even though it’s paid for, we still need to have it installed and after it may take upwards of 1 year for the ministry to approve for usage.
We are in the works to add higher capacity electrical supply to 2 areas in the park, this should help during heavy load hot weather conditions.
A project has started to create a new look to our …… area. Nope. not going to tell you. have to keep something a surprise to build suspense of what’s to come for 2023. But it’s going to be great!
The Garbage disposal area has received a new larger bin. Please keep in mind that Donro park only allows disposal of bagged general camping garbage. Any large items/furniture/etc. must be taken home or to our local Selwyn dump. There will be a metal scrap collection area designated behind the bin. Please keep in mind the area will now be closely monitored and items not allowed will be returned to your camp site.
Parking on sites will be limited to one (1) Vehicle (some exceptions apply). There is ample guest parking within the designated areas throughout the park and will help control overwhelming traffic congestion within the camp grounds.
Boat/trailer storage will again move back down past the main entrance road now that we’ve had an opportunity to reorganize the location. The area will eventually be under camera surveillance for added security. There will no longer be boat storage on sites other than day maintenence.
The new Shack installed at the entrance on the main road will be used as an information Kiosk. Any park events, park updates, and guest sign in will be available there. All guests must register prior to entering the park.
As season opening approaches, please remember 2023 fees are now due. The deadline is May 7th, 2023. Upon park opening, we will be hosting 2 open office sessions for campers looking to pay in person as follows:
Saturday May 6th: 10am – 2pm
Sunday May 7th: 10am – 2pm
If you are unable to attend, please contact us to arrange a time prior to the due date to avoid any late fees or interest charges.
If any changes need to be made to your invoice, please contact us with any updates and make sure you send the revised copy to us at donropark@hotmail.com
Happy Glamping!
